We're pleased to offer the following services in our Hayden Veterinary Clinic:
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately. If possible, it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency and we can prepare for your arrival.
We have a veterinarian and personnel on regular duty 5 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle urgent care. In addition, Dr. Erickson is generally available to take emergency calls from our clients between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. seven days a week. Late night emergencies are best handled by Emergency Pet Care in Post Falls where they are fully staffed all night and 24 hours on weekends and holidays. Emergencies can be things such a snail bait poisoning, car accidents, or other trauma or poisonings. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment CALL (208) 772-7484 IMMEDIATELY. Our answering machine will give you the correct # to call if we are not available. Even during regular office hours, it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency.
We are also available for URGENT CARE when the condition is not life-threatening, but you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment. Our staff will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionist or nurse will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait or may suggest you leave the patient with us so our doctor can examine them ASAP and call you with his recommendations for diagnostics and treatment. We are committed to offering flexibility and working with you to provide appropriate care without disrupting your busy schedule.
Types of Pets Seen
Because our practice consists of Dr. Erickson, his support staff, and occasionally a relief veterinarian, the majority of our patients are dogs, cats and other small mammals. This allows us to focus our training and continual education on the specific medical needs of a few species and to better keep abreast of the constant changes in medicine, surgery and dentistry.
Mountain View Veterinary Clinic operates an open hospital. This means that our team can arrange for owners to be with their animals during medical procedures. A consult with Dr. Erickson is required to determine what is best given your pet's particular situation.
Mountain View Veterinary Clinic accepts payment via cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, Diner's Club and Care Credit. So that we can continue to provide you with high quality service, we require that payment be made at the time services are rendered.
We provide treatment plans for all surgeries and hospitalizations including the charges for those services. If you have not received an estimate for your expected charges, you are welcome to request one at any time.
Mountain View Veterinary Clinic offers discounted services to senior citizens and Humane Society VIP card holders. Additionally, pets adopted from local area rescue groups generally receive their first wellness exam at no charge if scheduled within a specific time period. Please call us for more information.
